"America is addicted to oil!"

That either makes George Bush, the C.E.O. of this country, the chief crack head or the chief drug dealer. If the former assumption is accurate, then Mr. Bush just aired a plea for help on national television - essentially granting himself immunity from persecution by coming clean about his habit. You know federal law prohibits firing someone from their job if they admit to having a drug dependency problem.

His swearing an oath to uphold, defend and honor is effectively nullified, because we all know that a crack head will do anything for some rock. A crack head will steal from family, friends... whomever. And while the population at large may be looking at the benefits of having a crack head in office (crack heads are known for coming through with some phenomenal deals!), half the time you can't be sure whether or not the stuff you're buying back was yours in the first place!

If, however the second assumption is accurate, then Mr. Bush is playing the sympathy card in order to rake in his billions. He is providing a humanitarian service for the weak and pitiful - providing the American people with the means to forget about their real worries, just so long as they can drive their SUVs and purchase industrial goods. It just happens to inadvertantly fill his coffers with gold.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the possible scenarios being played out. Either the oil crisis is propaganda designed to both play on people's fears and excuse the profit margins of oil companies, or the powers-that-be know that the country has to switch to a new form of consumable energy in the next couple of generations (but while we are here, we might as well make a run on what's left and get rich before the bottom falls out). The U.S. either already has the technology and resources available and is simply padding its accounts, or is and has been derelict in its duties to research and develop viable alternatives that should have been available en masse to the public long ago. Either way you look at it, somebody's getting skinned. I'll give you one guess as to who it is.
