Run for the Gold

By the time people finally caught on as to what play was really being run on them, it was a done deal. A dictator is seldom concerned for his country, rather his interest is in the country’s ability to produce for him – or his ability to loot from it.

The Bush Administration, its affiliates and constituents are perhaps no different than any previous administration. It is no secret that government no longer serves the people except where it is in its interests to do so, this we have public opinion polls, political leveraging, and media delivered propaganda.

A cursory study of the Bush Administration communication style is a lesson in psychological manipulation, or as the president himself puts it, shock and awe. The American public is still traumatized by a stolen election, an attack on homeland soil, and a war entered under false pretenses. The average mind refuses to believe the possibility of any heinous crime being committed by the presidency – so they endorse the lie.

The United States has effectively been hijacked by an unscrupulous private corporate entity masquerading as a political party. What is peculiarly horrendous about this situation is that, at this moment on the world stage, the United States is the sole super power in existence, with no viable global entity prepared to check its free reign. With the exception of the most audacious schemes, the current Administration as acting leadership of this great country, basically having its run of the world. No other country can contest its military might.

Which brings us to the question of its citizenry, specifically its loyalty. Government is anything but ignorant of the most effective and efficient ways to govern. Rather than tackle the unrealistic challenge of world domination, practicality focuses instead on concentrating power, wealth and resources in the hands of a select few.

With this motive in mind the Bush administration is actively engaged in a program of de-fleecing America. Increasing its membership's capital base, raising taxes isn't enough for the greedy. As C.E.O. of this country Bush instead protects the interests of his stockholders. Oil is the commodity by which the future is secured. Halliburton, Cheney's company has been able to contract the best security force in the world: the US military - to insure its prosperity and prospecting. It is, by any other name, a war profiteer.

The masterminds, seeing a unique opportunity, conspired to take advantage of global events. They saw that the time was ripe to pluck the fruit of fortune. No matter how the United States as a nation fares in the future, the legacy of the Bush Administration, its affiliates and constituents, will be secure. Survival of the fittest.

"America is addicted to oil!"

That either makes George Bush, the C.E.O. of this country, the chief crack head or the chief drug dealer. If the former assumption is accurate, then Mr. Bush just aired a plea for help on national television - essentially granting himself immunity from persecution by coming clean about his habit. You know federal law prohibits firing someone from their job if they admit to having a drug dependency problem.

His swearing an oath to uphold, defend and honor is effectively nullified, because we all know that a crack head will do anything for some rock. A crack head will steal from family, friends... whomever. And while the population at large may be looking at the benefits of having a crack head in office (crack heads are known for coming through with some phenomenal deals!), half the time you can't be sure whether or not the stuff you're buying back was yours in the first place!

If, however the second assumption is accurate, then Mr. Bush is playing the sympathy card in order to rake in his billions. He is providing a humanitarian service for the weak and pitiful - providing the American people with the means to forget about their real worries, just so long as they can drive their SUVs and purchase industrial goods. It just happens to inadvertantly fill his coffers with gold.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the possible scenarios being played out. Either the oil crisis is propaganda designed to both play on people's fears and excuse the profit margins of oil companies, or the powers-that-be know that the country has to switch to a new form of consumable energy in the next couple of generations (but while we are here, we might as well make a run on what's left and get rich before the bottom falls out). The U.S. either already has the technology and resources available and is simply padding its accounts, or is and has been derelict in its duties to research and develop viable alternatives that should have been available en masse to the public long ago. Either way you look at it, somebody's getting skinned. I'll give you one guess as to who it is.

Need

The determination to be requires the manipulation of the contextual system in which one exists to acquire that which one needs. What one needs presupposes one's self value; for how can one consider need for that which one does not determine valuable? Self value then, is the determination to preserve one's life, whose purpose, at its most basic, is to build. Living necessitates building/growth and purpose. I am reminded of one of the Creator's first commandments to be fruitful and multiply. Such is the need of life.

Understanding Self

In getting understanding of one's self, one invariably self-evaluates based on one's relationships. The pre-eminent question is, "How do I fit within this system?" 'System' can be defined as universe, society, culture, community, group, or association. In answering this question, one must acknowledge that the system which defines one's identity is also pre-existant to that identity. Identity then, cannot be established in a void. Identity requires being, and one cannot be with nothing to act upon or with nothing to act upon it. Being is therefore an act requiring the conscience of an actor; the deconstructive process of inquiry resting upon the answer of the Eternal - a concept beyond understanding and quantified as the unquantifiable. Ultimately speaking, to understand one's self is to acknowledge one's relationship with the Eternal, also called the Divine, and in that acknowledgement, recognizing the integrity of one's purpose as nothing less than the expression of the Divine.

Reality

What is more real than what one perceives? If a reality exists outside of one's ability to perceive it, how can it be real to that one? I am reminded of the question of whether a sound is made when a tree falls in a forest and there is no one around to hear it. On the surface this is a rediculous question, of course. But what it challenges is not so much reality but the application of philosophical argument. It seems obvious, given the standard of accepted knowledge, that a tree does in fact make a sound when it falls whether or not there is anyone around to hear it. The question of reality and its perception is something entirely different. The very definition if reality is predicated on the ability to perceive it. So then, if reality is in fact a matter of perception, what intimate knowledge of reality can come from beyond one's ability to perceive it? Therefore reality is a matter of opinion, but even moreso - personal.

Thinking is living...

The more one knows, the more one is responsible for that knowledge. Imparting that knowledge to others is not, in and of itself, a virtue; rather, obedience to the truth, especially in its need to be shared, is of paramount importance. Should the wealth of truth be wasted? Truth cannot be wasted. As it is every person's obligation to seek out truth in accordance with and in reverence to their existence, it is also the responsibility of those who have aquired truth, to be its agents - its propagators. Therefore let none assume the definitions of others but prove for one's self the veracity of all information as it relates to one's existence. The definition of life mandates it.
